Caffeine

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Caffeine is a popular, powerful stimulant that is proven to be able to increase muscle endurance, strength and exercise performance. Caffeine works primarily by increasing Noradrenaline, the neurotransmitter in the brain most responsible for concentration. Research shows optimally effective dosages vary between 4 and 6 mg per kg of bodyweight

 

Hordenine

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Hordenine is a naturally occurring alkaloid found in a variety of plants such as Barley. Hordenine blocks the enzyme responsible for the breakdown of Noradrenaline, and can therefore enhance and even extend the effects of Caffeine. This ingredient is one of the main reasons why Amplify is able to increase energy levels far beyond the capabilities of caffeine alone.

 

 

L-Theanine

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Theanine is an amino acid, primarily found in tea, which has a synergistic effect when combined with Caffeine. Theanine actually reduces the negative side effects of Caffeine, while enhancing the cognitive benefits such as alertness, focus, attention and mood. In addition, Theanine induces the production of nitric oxide, which further increases blood flow.

SYNOPSIS:

 

Betaine Anhydrous, aka Trimethylglycine, has been shown to increase muscular endurance, strength, and growth hormone production in response to exercise.

Betaine Anhydrous, aka Trimethylglycine, has been shown to increase muscular endurance, strength, and growth hormone production in response to exercise. In a study done at the University of Connecticut in 2010, the UCONN researchers found that resistance-trained athletes (experienced weight-lifters) increased their muscle strength by 25 percent, and their muscle power by 20 percent, by taking 1.25 grams of betaine twice per day.

Choline Bitartrate

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Choline Bitartrate is a stable form of choline that can, in acute doses, not only provide cognitive benefits but provide increased muscle endurance and reduced fatigue. Excess choline is actually converted into another powerful nutrient – One that is also profiled here: trimethylglycine (Betaine).

 

 

Alpha-GPC

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Alpha GPC is a form of Choline, and happens to be the most rapidly absorbed source of Choline available. Alpha-GPC works in the brain to increase levels of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine, which is responsible for signaling muscle contraction. This means greater muscle fiber recruitment and more forceful muscle contraction. It is also the only form actually shown to increase power output in athletes after oral ingestion.

Citrulline malate is the amino acid L-Citrulline bound with Malic Acid. According to the latest sports science, Citrulline Malate has been shown to provide the body with:

 

  • GREATER NITRIC OXIDE PRODUCTION:
    • In the body, Citrulline quickly converts to the amino acid Arginine. Surprisingly, Citrulline is shown to increase blood Arginine levels much more effectively than even taking Arginine itself! Increased Arginine in the blood leads to increased Nitric Oxide, which can dilate blood vessels and allow increased blood flow to muscles during exercise. This results in pronounced vascularity, superior nutrient delivery, and more intense, longer-lasting muscle pumps
  • REDUCED LACTIC ACID + AMMONIA:
    • Citrulline Malate helps eliminate byproducts of protein and glucose metabolism, such as ammonia and lactic acid. Generally, more ammonia in your blood means poorer athletic performance. The science shows that there is a synergistic relationship between Citrulline and malic acid, and thus Citrulline Malate is - gram for gram - far more effective than L-Citrulline alone.** However, not all Citrulline Malate blends are created equal: Look across the pre-workout category and you will see cheaper forms of Citrulline Malate at ratios of 1:2, 1:1, and at most a 2:1 ratio of Citrulline to Malic Acid. Amplify uses an extremely potent 3:1 ratio of Citrulline-to-Malate for maximum effect.

 

Citrulline Malate will most benefit athletes who train intensely and regularly push their bodies’ limits, as it can safely provide an added boost in high-intensity performance. The clinically effective dose of Citrulline Malate to enhance sports performance is shown to be around 6,000 – 8,000 mg (6g-8g), taken before exercise.

L-Norvaline can enhance and extend the vasodilation (a.k.a. pump) induced by Citrulline Malate by blocking the enzyme that normally limits the Nitric Oxide production resulting from elevated blood arginine levels.

 

Here’s how it works: Citrulline Malate readily converts to arginine and is proven to heighten arginine levels in the bloodstream – even more effectively than just taking arginine itself. Arginine is then converted in the body to Nitric Oxide.

 

While high blood concentrations of arginine produce NItric Oxide, they also cause the body produce an enzyme - arginase - that is used to break down and remove arginine. L-Norvaline will actually inhibit the arginase enzyme, preventing it from inhibiting your nitric oxide production. L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that is known to increase mental focus, boost energy, improve mood, and even assist in fat metabolism. Inside the body, Tyrosine is used to produce vital hormones and neurotransmitters, such as thyroid hormones, dopamine, norepinephrine, and also epinephrine.

Research shows that elevated epinephrine levels may reduce fatigue. A study done with military cadets showed that ingesting tyrosine improved mental and physical performance, while reducing fatigue during demanding military combat training drills. L-Tyrosine tends to be taken in doses of 500-2000mg approximately 30-60 minutes before any acute stressor (such as exercise)
